Austen started his career as a carpenter and has worked within the construction industry all of his life. Having the experience of working for large commercial construction companies in central London, managing teams and multi-million pound projects, Austen’s passion for detail and workmanship remained paramount.

With a young family and the need for a better work/life balance, together with his love of construction and involvement with local rugby club Eton Manor. Austen set out to create his own company, Ellicott Construction Ltd. Now able to work locally on projects, and growing the business organically, even through the daunting Covid Pandemic. Austen achieved his wish to reduce his commute, which in turn allowed for more family time and a bigger involvement within the local community, especially Eton Manor Rugby Club.

During the past few years Ellicott Construction Ltd has become an established building company in East London covering Wanstead, South Woodford, Chigwell and Illford. Austen’s go to saying is “the next project is just around the corner” and during Covid Austen’s personable, positive approach led him to diversify into Garden Rooms and he has been known to have built almost every Luxury Garden Room in a street! Carpentry really is Austen’s passion and thats evident if you ever meet him.

Looking forward, Austen has huge ambitions, and vision for his company’s future, and for his own new build developments. Austen’s energy, positivity, passion and values for everything construction are undeniable. Whilst Austen’s driving force and ethical values are also in giving back, especially to his local community.
